Gulf Harbour Marina

We spent a very busy social week in Opua and I even managed to play a game of golf. We got very little done on the boat as we were just having so much fun on land. We had planned to come down here to Gulf Harbour, which is about 12 miles from downtown Auckland, and just take our time as it is about 100 plus miles from Opua but Marian got word that her Mum was not doing well in Ireland so we came straight here and arrived on Saturday November 27th and got the boat berthed. We made arrangement for Marian to fly to Vancouver then London and Dublin on Sunday. That night we received a call that her Mum had passed away. Very sad even though Margaret was 93 years old it always is a shock to know they are gone.

So Marian is now in freezing Ireland and I stayed here to get started on all our boat projects. I have been busy and have got a good start on most things. I will leave on Sunday the 12th for Vancouver where I will meet up with Marian and spend Christmas with all of our children and our 5 grand kids. We will be back here around the middle of January for the summer season and look forward to sailing and seeing New Zealand. We plan to bring Andrew, Lindsay and our two grandsons back for three weeks. Should be fun with the boys who are 5 and 3!!!
