This would be our favourite place so far with a bay with no long tail boats, a beautiful beach with very few people on it and a real laid back feel to the place. There are maybe ten restaurants along the beach and every night we go to one of them for sundown drinks and dinner. During the day we have been doing boat jobs, reading and swimming around the boat and under it doing some scraping, as the marine growth is very rapid especially since we have not had Kilkea out of the water for two years now. The will change when we get back to Rebak on March 17th for a haul out and new anti fouling paint on the undersides. Tomorrow we will head back to Nai Harn beach which will take a couple of long days sailing. We will wait there and pick up our friends on Friday.

Koh Phayam
We have moved up the Thailand coast to an island called Koh Phayam which we were at last year. On the way we have been stopping off at different bays along with Sea Mist who have caught up to us. We spent a night in Patong beach which is the very busy centre of Phuket tourism. It is a long beach, maybe a mile long dotted with beach umbrellas five deep the whole length of it swarming with tourists many from Russia. It is the centre for all seedy side of life shows that the hucksters try to get you into with lots of action going on out in the main walking street. Not a place that we like so left the next morning up to Nai Yarn which is by the airport and has nice beach restaurants and a quiet anchorage. We stayed for a couple of days then headed north stopping at the Navy Wives club for dinner one night then an over night anchorage the next before we arrived here. We have now been in this area for the last ten days just relaxing. (what else do we do??)
